Al-Reef Agricultural Investment and Marketing Company succeeded in exporting more than 100 tons of Palestinian agricultural products to international markets, in cooperation with the Palestinian Agricultural Relief.
The agricultural products that were exported during the first quarter of 2015 included premium and organic extra virgin olive oil, Medjool dates, local maftoul, thyme, almonds, and olive oil soap. The value of the exported products amounted to more than four million shekels.
In his turn, Salim Abu Ghazaleh, General Manager of Al-Reef Investment Company, expressed his pride in watching Palestinian agricultural products adorn the shelves of international shops in countries such as: France, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America and Belgium, and these products were awarded the “Made in Palestine” medal.
Al-Reef Company is keen to keep these agricultural products distinctive and demanded by the foreign consumer, by applying the principles of fair trade and designing promotional and marketing activities at fair prices for farmers, and more than 18 agricultural cooperatives benefited during this period.
During the season of harvesting Medjool dates, the company exported 250 tons to many international markets, and provided packaging and sterilization services for Medjool dates to farmers and the private sector.
Its obtaining the Food Safety and Quality Certificate (ISO 22000) and the Organic Product Certificate contributed significantly to its export operations to international markets.
Each product that is exported to the local and international markets goes through many stages supervised by a distinguished and qualified human cadre that includes specialized engineers and experts in international trade. The best modern packaging lines, refrigerated storage and private laboratories that examine the health, safety and quality of agricultural food products are available, in the company’s close cooperation with the Standards Authority. The Palestinian Standards Authority, the Ministry of Agriculture, the laboratories of Palestinian universities, the Ministry of National Economy, and cooperation with the Jordanian Standards and Metrology Authority and the laboratories of the Royal Jordanian Society, which contributed to the company continuing to implement its export program for Palestinian agricultural products.
