The cooperative society, Jayus Cooperative Society, was established in 2020 during the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, evolving as a branch of the Rural Women Development Association that has been in existence for 20 years. The women strategically decided to cultivate eggplants in a greenhouse dedicated to producing high-quality pickles known as “mukdous.” Later, two additional plastic units were incorporated to expand their production capacity.
In addition to their primary agricultural activities, the cooperative is actively engaged in empowering women through a comprehensive psychological support program aimed at their development and empowerment.
Cooperative Products:
The flagship product of the cooperative is “mukdous,” meticulously manufactured within the cooperative premises. Additionally, the cooperative’s product range includes thyme and pickles such as cucumber and pepper. Furthermore, it encompasses diverse products like cheese, labneh, tomato paste, green and black olives, and the renowned local soap known as Nablus soap.
